Word Siachen glacier appears in the news sometimes and we chuckle and say , oh, the highest battle field in the world and move on .

Sia means roses in Balti language , and in the lower valleys of the Siachen glacier .there are cluster of huge bushes with thick stem and thorny bark .The rose plant is oversized her , the fregrance of roses is enchanting .

Roses mean  Love and Peace ., will that return to the glacier?

On an average 20% Indian army personal suffer from some kind of permanant damadge by living for six months on the glacier . Frost-bite, leading to amputation of toes or fingers is common ., mental depression in this place is high on increase .and India spends 4crores a day on Siachen alone .

But Siachen is very strategic point in India's geopolitical situation .The glacier in the East Karakoram range comes out like a tounge with slopes on two sides one receding to Pakistan and other to China .

It is land where no humans can suvive yet it holds the height for watch over the two sides .

What is the solution for it? should we continue and get our young people killed and crippled?

We need  PEACE  FIRST.
