'To be an Indian and experience the 50th Year of Independence ,
a land mark in history , a time for celebration ! "said Nawang .
Ma agreed adding , yes and I will not be there for anymore landmarks, and thus started the celebration .How does one celebrate I-DAY.?
Let me think and ,Huge copper pots of by gone era came out and were polished to the brim .
All the wooden tables had round of polish .just after crack of dawn Ma went to the flower market and soon the house was full with riots of Tiranga colour .sword shaped green leaves , white Lilies and Sontakka, bright orange bird of paradise flowers ,the ganda , the nem leaves . On every corner of Kapadia house-hold the Tiranga ruled .
Nawang bought fifty paper flags , from the street-boy , who flashed a smile back at him .Beaming with pride , Nawang arranged all fifty flags in midst of the flowers.Never thought thetoran had Tiranga colours .
White , Green and orange rangoli adorned the Dharati Mata . And the menu had Gajjar Halwa and Palak Paneer , not to forget the white Dhokla with green Criander chutney .
the sweets on the table were green pista roll, keshari penda and white malayi barfi.Nawang prefered tri coloured rasmalai with keshar-pista on it .
Sonam ,Mrinal , Vikas ,Anna and Soheil , Arif , Reshma ,Nawang's pathan friends all had great time together .
Nawang wanted it to be amemorial day .Another land mark of sixtieth I-DAYapproaches .
Celebration there will be all around , all the friends are scattered all over the world they will call .
As Lt.Nawang has left his mark on India.
